The 2026-27 THHL season kicks off Friday, October 23rd with 4 matchups. The two new teams to the league, the Pilot Mound Pilots and Oak Lake Icemen, hit the ice that night as they travel to Neepawa and Wawanesa respectively. Deloraine and Boissevain also renew hostilities opening night, alongside Killarney beginning their title defence as they host the Carberry Plainsmen.
Along with the addition of Pilot Mound and Oak Lake comes the loss of the Sandy Bay Flying Featherman, leaving the league with 15 teams. The teams will battle it out in one large division, with the top 12 making playoffs. One slight change to the playoff format this year: 2025-26 brought the introduction of playoff selection, where higher seeds got to pick their opponents in each of the first two rounds. That selection process has now been adopted for all rounds of playoffs, and will be used in the semi-finals as well this season.
Teams have been divided into three "regional divisions" for scheduling purposes only. All teams will play every opponent in their regional division twice, and everyone else once, culminating in an 18-game regular season. Here are the regional divisions:
WEST: Deloraine, Hartney, Oak Lake, Melita, Virden
CENTRAL: Boissevain, Killarney, Rivers, Souris, Wawanesa
EAST: Carberry, McGregor, Minnedosa, Neepawa, Pilot Mound
